I’m not sure if I’ve ever spoken about this before, but my mother has always been the person that I know I am most comfortable with and loved around. I can honestly say she is one of the most incredible and kind people I have ever met. She is the type of person that just seems to have a presence about her. She is the one that I talk to about my day, and she is also one of the best friends I have.
I don’t know if you knew this, but you’ve probably had a conversation with her about a million times. Its not something that just comes naturally to me, but it shows in the way that I am able to approach someone and not just talk about myself. This also shows in the way she gives me advice on how I should act and what I should do for her.
Well she is a very intelligent, perceptive, and caring person. I know you have probably had a conversation countless times with her, so I will just give a brief summary of a few things. Her name is Nik. She is a senior at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. She is a part-time psychology major, and works toward a doctorate in psychology as well. Her favorite subjects are politics, social justice issues, and mental health.
I met her while she was teaching summer classes one summer, and we hit it off immediately. I’ve talked to her a couple of times, and I do have a couple of questions.
So, you think she’s a good candidate for a Ph.D.
This is an interesting question. As far as I know, Nik is a psychology major. It’s not a requirement, however. So, I don’t know that she would make an excellent Ph.D. student if you don’t have her as a major. I think it’s just a matter of how well she does in her classes and how much of a personality she can display.
I dont know. I dont know. I mean, if she does get a Ph.D. shes a great student, but I think she would be better off as a student who has more personality than just a bunch of numbers on a test.
Oh yeah. That’s a really good point. I think a Ph.D. student needs to have a personality. I mean, I think that Nik needs to be more than just numbers. But I think thats a stretch.
I disagree. I think she needs to be more than just numbers. A really smart person, with a good personality, and a great future.
There’s no doubt that Niko Lindsey would be a fine student. But I would also like to see her do more than just numbers. There’s something about her I don’t quite feel she has yet. She’s very bright and she’s very smart but she has a lot to learn. She needs to learn how to think. I know that sounds odd but it’s true. She needs to learn how to think.
